Moving Day

Its been a long time since I've blogged. The Internet has been kinda screwy at school so I had trouble getting blogger to post. I think its workling okay now though. Hopefully.

Nothing much has really happened lately. Last week we had Christainity Education Day. No offence, that was a bore. We had a concert though.. which was interesting for the first hour... then I got sleepy and it got hard to stay awake. The performer (her name is Sawa Tomoe) also played the piano, and she was really good. She had a Q&A the next day, which I think was a little too long (I think she answered ALL the questions the students from our school wrote to her.) She's really amazing, not only cuz she can sing and play the piano, but she is also trilingual. Her mother is Korean, her father is Japanese and she lived in America for a few years, so she can speak all three languages. She had trouble with some of the kanji in people's names, but either way, very impressive.

On Saturday, all the high school students had the Shinken Moshi, which is a big exam they have. Since I didn't have to take it, I didn't have to go to school, but I went after school to go to the festival the university was holding. I met up with Yanaga-san (one of my new anime/cosplay friends) and we met up with her uni friend who is also an avid cosplayer. We talked for a bit, and then we went home together (we take the same train, except I get off at an earlier stop). During the festival, the uni students sitting at the table beside us asked me to take their picture. Kinda freaked me out at first, because I wasn't expecting them to ask me. I did it anyways, and I think Yanaga-san gave me a look(she was buying something to eat at the stall infront of the tables) because I was giving her the "Umm, I think they thing I'm Japanese" and she was giving me the "Do you know how to communicate well enough with them to take their picture?" look. Well, they didn't really notice, and so life goes on. That was interesting though.

I usually try to go out during the weekends, since I don't have time during the week to do so anymore (badminton club is practically everyday afterschool). But on Sunday, I didn't really have anywhere I wanted to go. I considered calling one of you guys, but then when I thought about it... I didn't have anything to say to you guys. There was also the fear that whoever I called wouldn't be home, and I would have wasted my calling card. Either way, I decided to start packing for my move, since I might not have time to do so during the week, since I come home at around 7:30pm after badminton. I haven't bought that much stuff, but my suitcase is already half full, and I haven't even stuffed my clothes in yet. I'm SO going to need to mail some things home first or get another luggage carrier. My host mom was explaining to me about this coming Saturday, which is when I'm going to move to my next host family's house. Apparently I heard wrong or something, but I distinctly remember her saying that the brother was coming back in November. Now it seems that since he's coming back in JANUARY, and I'll be using his room. o.O So I have to wait 2 more months before I get to meet my SECOND Japanese highschool male(At Yuri's English class, there's a highschool guy there, but I haven't seen him lately at English class.) Ah well, atleast I get a bed now... no more putting away the futon in the morning (which is a hassle when you're running late, and I often don't put it away because of that)

I'm so out of shape now. Yes.. that was a bit random. Last week at badminton, I practically died during the warmup. For warm up, the senior badminton team runs up and down 3 flights of stairs 10 times. I died after 7 I think. I didn't want to look weak, so I lied and said that my ankle hurt, which I regret doing so , because afterwards they were extremely concerned about my ankle for the rest of the practice. Then we did10 laps around the gym, alternating between running and various other movements(side steping, lunges, etc... Genie, you know what I'm talking about... its just like badminton classes) I started cramping after maybe 5 laps, and by the 7th lap, I was in too much pain to breathe. I walked out back to the clubhouse (which is like a toolshed connected to other toolsheds/clubhouses) and just sat trying to breathe. I so need to whip myself back into shape.

I think that's basically all I had to ramble about for now. If I haven't mentioned, I'm going to cosplay at a convention that's taking place at Fukuoka Dome. I think its on Nov. 14th (Sunday) so I have 2 weeks to finish my costume. I'm exicted ^.^ Sasaki-san, Yanaga-san and I have been trying to locate the home ec teacher to ask if we can use the sewing room, but she's never around. Perhaps I'm doomed to hand sew everything -_- I'll try to take lots of pics.

I should blog about the school trip (which was like.. a week ago) and I should get those pics up.... Well, I'm off to do that.. wish me luck that I don't die during badminton practice today. Ja.

Ooo,　one more thing: Ivan- you're too picky~! Can I assume almost anything with wings that isn't revealing is okay? Lol, I got you something when I was in Tokyo(back in September during my orientation) hope it fits (it was cheap, and it made me laugh imagining you wearing it). I'll shop around... do you want food? Give me something to work with here!
